Week 9: Activity 2 - My Favorite Blog
You might be wondering what is my favorite blog? My favorite blog is Abby’s blog. You can check it on the following URL:http://blog.elanco.org/forre5yz/ Abby posted so many things that I can hardly count them. The topics of her recent posts are: DIY Halloween, Blog Challenge 3#, Activity 5#, My Avatar and My Favorite Quote. Why shouldn’t I tell you more about her posts? I will tell you something about her two recent posts, because as I said before, they are almost countless. In one of her recent posts Abby wrote about Giant Pandas. She mentioned about some interesting facts about them like they are endangered, only 1,864 are left in the wild and about 300 of them are placed in the zoos. The second post I have chosen to talk about is titled ‘Earth Day 2016: What We Can Do #16stubc’ – in this post she talked about water pollution and possible solutions as well as the ways to troubleshoot this issue. You can go ahead and read the other posts. You’ll surely find them interesting and that is the reason I would like to nominate Abby for the Edublogs Award. I think it is justified, as she posted variety of them so far and I do like reading almost each one of them. Diary of a Character (Fireheart) from the Story "Warriors: Forest of Secrets"
Dear Diary, My name is Fireheart. Today was a really confusing and frustrating day. Greystripe was really a good help. He managed to let us go to the RiverClan to talk to the Clan cats by communicating with Silverstream. After that, Greystripe and I, went to find Ravenpaw. She told us about Oakheart’s death and how Redtail died. Surprisingly Mistyfoot and Stonefur’s father are Oakheart. The snow started to fall and I was shivering from the cold winter air. Suddenly Greystripe and I were surprised by the flood that caused so much damage to the camp that we had to move away! Sincerely, Tosita, G-6 I’ve been a big fan of Erin Hunter's book series Warriors or Warrior Cats, ever since I watched animations. I really liked them until I stumbled upon a sims 3 series. I was really happy and I really wanted that book. And my first ever book I read from him was 'Warrior: Forest of Secrets'. I also wanted to read the first book of this series but it wasn’t available. I like this series because it teaches me a lot of new vocabulary words. But I remember the book ‘Fireheart and Graystripe’ in which Oakheart got squished by boulders and got killed by Redtail, which really confused me and also the resolution confused the readers. Erin Hunter's love for cats makes this series amazing. I really admire his writing. Thank you so much Erin hunter for writing a wonderful series. You guy want to know why I am proud to be Thai? Well I will tell you why. Thailand is a wonderful place many beautiful places like Phuket (Thailand’s biggest island), Cheng Mai and other places. Thai food is also delicious like som tam, tom yum and pad Thai. You want to know more about Thailand? I can tell you! Thai people created these weapons, there’s two weapons those are Krabi (sword) and a Ngaw a pole weapon which is used by the elephant warriors. The local games are Makruk is a board game and Pok Deng a gambling card game, the sport games are Sepak Takraw or you can just call it Takraw, this game uses a wooden ball it is similar with volley ball but they use the foot to kick back the ball. I’ll give you some examples of the martial arts we have in Thailand Muay Thai, Krabi Krabong (uses the sword Krabi), Muay Boran (Boran means old), Ledrit is taught and used by the royal army and the last one Silat Pattani. Oh and did you know the last king of Thailand King Bhumiboi Adulyadej is the longest king who lived? And King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke is the first king of Thailand! Isn’t this amazing! There’s abput 400 temples all around Bangkok but I will tell you about some of them. Let’s start with Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of Emerald Buddha) this temple is known for their emerald Buddha, carved into 66cm tall block of jade! Wat Pho (Temple of Reclining Buddha) was named after a monastery in India where Buddha is believed to have lived, is one of the most oldest and largest Buddhist temples in Bangkok. There’s these cars called Tuk Tuk in Thailand it is used to travel around the city, village or town. People often used these cars to tour them self around places. Have you seen markets close to the river (well a small river), some places they used boats to travel around the stream and sell things this is called floating market. Oh and I almost forgot to mention about Thailand’s national animal the elephants, people in Thailand trained elephants to make entertainment. Few months ago I went to this place called Measa Elephant Camp, it was so fun. That was my first place riding an elephant it was so bumpy I thought I would fall off but I didn’t. This was fun talking about my country, I hope someday one of you guys who reads this will come visit Thailand.
